Darth Vader visits Tel Aviv
Nostalgia corner! This is one of the first films I ever made (2003). I took a 3D animation/compositing class in my undergrad studies, and decided to land a lambda class imperial shuttle in the middle of Tel Aviv. My buddy Or Gottlib had this helmet, and we wrote the script together. My brother played Darth, my sister played the clerk and my mom made the black cape. We shot for a couple of hours. I did all the modeling, texturing, animation and compositing myself, with the help of two fantastic teachers, Matteo Shapira and Eran Stern.
The little class assignment became one of the first viral videos in Israel, generating quarter million views (that was before the days of Youtube). It gathered media attention and screened in a few film festivals.
